The grove at home during the extraordinary heatwave. It hasn’t rained for weeks, since the last brief storm at the beginning of July. Much of Europe is struggling, and suffering, and as farmers there’s not much we can do except modify our work schedule and daily timetable, work fast, and stay hydrated.

The regenerative gardens are thriving; the soil is rich with nutrients, and the thick composts and hay we use seal much of the moisture in, supplemented only by brief timed watering from our rainwater tanks in the morning and evening. The olive groves are healthy and happy. They love this.
