Harvest at the farm, day four. Picking through the olives in the nets to remove leaves, branches, and spoiled or bruised olives before packing the trailer and crates for the drive to the cooperative mill at the end of the day. At the mill, our olives are sorted, rinsed, and pressed immediately to preserve freshness, quality, and taste.
The farm is done, so after a short two day break, our little team moves to the grove at home next. They’re long days, with early starts and sometimes long waits at the mill, and we eat what’s available when we can, but the weather has been good and it’s great fun.
