The weather has been extraordinary; a long, unrelenting, and fierce heatwave that has gone on now for more than a month, and it means we can do only a few hours of work in the morning, and a few more in the late afternoon and early evening at dusk. <\/p>\n<p>We had transplanted the little seedlings from the nursery to the regenerative gardens in June, and they really struggled in the heat at first but are doing well now with a mixture of natural composts and nutrients. The water drip irrigation system we laid down a few weeks ago is incredibly efficient; it uses very little water, and works on a automated timer set only to a short period very early in the morning and again mid evening.
