Early evening in the long grass of the grove at home. The weather has been milder this week and there’s been some rain, which is wonderful for the trees after such an extended heatwave at the beginning of summer.
The lovely wildflower season is over, sadly, but there’s lots of wild oats and barley, and the trees are thriving. We can really see the extraordinary benefits of the vase pruning we’ve done, opening up the middle of trees to fresh air and sunlight. The vegetable garden is doing well too – except for a slight wild piggies problem – so we’ve taken a short holiday.
