The grove at the farm, with the thick cover crop of favino plants growing well now in the warmer weather of the last few weeks. Favino is a fava bean plant, used as animal feed, and it’s rich in nitrogen and nutrients which we use to reduce the level of calcium and enrich the soil before planting.

In a few weeks we’ll cut the grass and mulch it into the ground before laying down a rich layer of vegetable based compost this time rather than manure, and in April we’ll be busy with planting and building an irrigation system together with our continuing work on the greenhouses. It’s almost spring!
