An extremely busy and productive week in the spring sunshine beginning renovations and repairs at the farm across town. First up; removing all the fencing, metal fence poles, and gates in the front field and returning it to its natural and orginal state as a wide open olive grove, and where we will prepare the ground for a series of large vegetable gardens.
In conjunction with this work on the front yard, we’re digging up the old irrigation system in preparation for a new one, and repairing and replanting the electricity and water pipes before we turn the topsoil and prepare it for regenerative gardening. Our ideas for a small collective are taking shape, and we’ve made appointments with a few specialists to take care of those renovations we can’t do ourselves.
