Winter vegetables and salads in a bright red bucket on the wooden table at the end of a lovely day working on the property at home. The weather is improving, and we’re incredibly busy and working on a very tight and productive calendar. The regenerative vegetable gardens need more of our time, but rewarded us this time with a big bucket of chickory, fennel, salad, chives, and spinach.
We’ve also had a new overhead power line installed by the electricity company, which meant we also had to tackle the overdue job of climbing high into the trees on the end of tall ladders with a chainsaw to cut away some fairly major branches that were touching the line. That’s done, but we’ve started some fairly major work on the farm as well, which means that every day is extremely full, and sometimes the chickory has to wait.
