Our gardening assistant and chief hole digger, in front of the new vegetable garden taking shape at the top of the hill next to the grove on our home property. The ground is being prepared according to the regenerative farming techniques we’ve embraced this year.
The wooden structure is to house the water tanks which will collect as much natural rainwater as possible to irrigate the garden, and the heavy black plastic covers the mulch and manure we’ve put down to enrich the ground. It will be in place until after summer, when we will lay more fresh compost, plant the seedlings, and cover the beds with thick hay.
