Visiting the nursery and gardens of a nature park specifically designed to meet the challenges of a hot and dry climate, where we investigated the particular plants and shrubs that thrive with very little water, and learned about the best methods of planting and maintaining these types of gardens and grounds.
The natural water catchement system we’re building for our large new vegetable patch in the first grove is part of this thinking, and we have spent a number of years planting these types of arid climate plants along the embankment of our driveway at home. Climate change is real, and presents formidable challenges that we are doing our best to adapt to.
