Blessed shade from the early summer heat underneath the huge mulberry tree at the farm. We pruned it this spring, but it’s still massive, so the birds get the ripening red berries on the top branches that we can’t possible reach while we crawl around in the shade snacking on ours.
The Mulberry is one of a number of fruit trees that we have, including a cherry tree that we also share with the birds, a Heritage Peach, a very large fig tree, and a lovely little baby Nashi Asian pear. A gelateria has asked to buy our figs for one of their flavours, but other than that our fruits are ours and you can’t have any!
