The regenerative vegetable gardens at the top of the grove at home need more of our time, and with the kids away at University we’ve decided to retire a few rows, mulch the organic matter, and cover it with hay and plastic for the winter months until Spring. Primarily because we can’t eat as much as it produces!
It provides for us, though, growing away happily while we’ve been busy with the olive harvest and gifting us a few different types of pumpkin, fennel, peppers, eggplants, chikory, silverbeet, and potatoes in a bowl on the front patio table in the sun. We’re busy preparing this season’s tapenades, printing new labels, and returning to work on the farm, so it’s one less thing to think about and shop for.
