No it’s not a swimming pool, it’s work in progress on constucting our fabulous new worm culture compost box at the farm. We’ve been running a little multilevel worm box at home for a number of years now; we feed them a lot of our green scraps from the kitchen, and they work away then gift us this fantastically rich compost which we use to fertilise the vegetable gardens.

For the farm we need something bigger, so we’ve moved the happiest, healthiest, and most adventurous travellers over to the farm, prepared the mulch for their new home from the rich, moist undergrowth under the trees there, and are busy building this rather large and very simple box for them on one of the lower terraces below the main farm house. It’s a nice job, because we really like worms.
