The first olive flowers blooming towards the end of May during the weeks of steady rain. These little clusters of beautiful white flowers eventually whither in the heat and shed their petals, and a percentage of what remains grows into mature olives over the summer and autumn seasons until harvest.
The weather has been good, with weeks of solid rain that will nourish and sustain the grove over the long hot months that have now begun. The trees are heathy after substantial pruning a year ago, and we are looking forward to a generous harvest at the end of the year producing the extra virgin oil that forms the core of our little family business.
